Message from director of the Institute

The SNNPR Management institute has been providing short term trainings for governmental organization and private sectors since, July 1997. The Efforts being made to bring fast and sustainable development in the country in general and Southern Nations Nationalities and Peoples Regional state in particular needs a high level of efficiency and effectiveness in performance. Institutions the leadership and employees have to be effective and efficient in performing their duties and crying out their responsibilities. This also calls for the continuous upgrading of both institutional and individual capabilities of different development forces-government., non-government and the private sector. Such capacity building efforts can best be realized through the provision of training consultancy based on clearly identified needs and And problems of the customer. Our institute aims at addressing the needs in capacity building through promoting research and providing training and consultancy services in the field of management and leadership development. To support our efforts in the field of research, training and consultancy, we are partnered with different regional and federal institutions that have directly or indirectly similar missions. With this we create a chance for government, non government, civil society organizations, the private business sector and individuals who want any of our services to support their future developments.

Southern Nations, Nationalities and people’s Regional state Management Institute is located in the capital of the regional government Awassa, 274 kilometres south of Addis Ababa. It was established by proclamation No. 15/1997 .Its purpose is providing short and medium-term training on management skills and knowledge to administrators, legislators state appointees and other civil servants working at different levels  . It offers consultancy services and conducts regional problem solving researches in management as issue of development. Since its establishment, the institute has contributed a lot to realize the human and organizational capacity building efforts of the region. The institute has endeavored towards assisting numerous public and private organization to attain higher level of efficiency and effectiveness by providing modern management skill training. In the past 12 years, the institute has trained more than 11,000 individuals that benefited different organizations in the region.
